Three men from the Southland were among the 15 U.S. Marines and one U.S. Navy corpsman killed when a military refueling plane crashed in Mississippi on Monday.
“It is with great regret that the Marine Corps announces the names of those who perished in the KC-130T Hercules crash in Mississippi July 10,” the U.S Marine Corps said in a statement Friday morning.
Among the dead were Marine Corps Sgt. Chad E. Jenson of Los Angeles and Marine Corps Capt. Sean E. Elliott of Orange, the Marine Corps reported.
Staff Sgt. Robert H. Cox was also killed. The U.S. Marine Corps statement said he was from Ventura.
The aircraft crashed while flying from a Marine base in North Carolina.
