Full directional closures are planned during the next two weeks on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Calabasas, a Caltrans spokesman said Friday.
All southbound lanes will be closed at Lost Hills Road between midnight and 5 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and all northbound lanes will be closed at the same location the following week on Wednesday and Thursday, according to Caltrans spokesman Michael Comeaux.
“Closing the freeway is necessary for bridge construction at the U.S. 101 interchange at Lost Hills Road,” Comeaux said.
The full closures will be preceded by two-hour-long, two-lane closures, and followed by one-hour-long two-lane closures, he said.
Motorists can detour onto Agoura Road, which parallels the freeway, between Las Virgenes Road to the south and Liberty Canyon Road to the north to get around the closures, according to Comeaux.
Workers will be placing girders for a new bridge structure, he said of the $24 million bridge replacement and ramp improvement project, which is also expected to enhance pedestrian safety.
Security Paving Inc. is the project contractor.
