Riverside County sheriff’s officials will conduct an “expedited” hiring fair Saturday in Riverside, seeking to interview and test prospective candidates for correctional deputy positions.
According to Senior Deputy Tom Tully, the recruitment event is slated for 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, 16791 Davis Ave.
“Written exams and physical agility tests for correctional deputies will be administered,” Tully said. “This is an opportunity to get the written test, physical agility test … and receive a background packet all in one day.”
The sheriff’s department is ramping up hiring to fill hundreds of positions at the Benoit Detention Center in Indio, which is in the process of a phased opening. The first wing is slated to be operational in early July, and additional space will be opened over the next two years.
Walk-in candidates will be admitted, but Tully said individuals who made appointments in advance will receive priority handling Saturday.
