Repairs to a guardrail will require the closure Saturday of a connector ramp at the 60/91/215 interchange near downtown Riverside, and motorists were advised to consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
According to Caltrans, crews will replace a smashed guardrail along the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway connector to southbound Interstate 215, which is often congested, even on weekends.
The work will necessitate closing the entire ramp between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m., officials said.
Additionally, the Mission Inn Avenue on-ramp to the eastbound 91 and the Spruce Street exit ramp from the freeway will be shut down while the repair work is taking place, according to Caltrans.
Eastbound motorists were advised to consider transitioning to southbound I-215 via city streets in Riverside, and one detour would entail exiting the 91 at University Avenue, taking Vine Street north to Third Street, and following Third east to the 215.
