A Metrolink train bound for Ventura County struck a vehicle on the tracks in the Glendale area Tuesday, but there was no immediate word on injuries.

Train 117 struck a vehicle near Sonora Avenue and San Fernando Road. Photos from the scene appeared to show a vehicle forced off the tracks and into chain link fence.

There was no immediate word on the condition of anyone who may have been inside the vehicle when it was struck, or if any injuries occurred on the train.

According to Metrolink, all train service was cut off on the tracks between Glendale and downtown Burbank, where the train had been scheduled to arrive at about 4:50 p.m. All Metrolink trains on the Ventura County and Antelope Valley lines were holding at downtown’s Union Station due to the track closure.

The train involved in the crash was stopped on the tracks in the area.
