Twenty-two people transition from Los Angeles Police Department recruits to officers Friday at the police academy in Elysian Park.
Class 10-24 is made up of 19 men and three women, the LAPD said in a statement. Their ethnic breakdown is 18 Hispanics, one African American, one Asian and two white officers, the LAPD said.
One of the graduating officers will join the Los Angeles Port Police.
The new officers completed 904 hours of training over 24 weeks, the LAPD said.
The ceremony will be attended by representatives of the Los Angeles Mayor’s office, the LA Board of Police Commissioners representatives of the Police Chief and families and friends of the new officers.
