La Canada Flintridge is accepting applications Monday for its Sustainability and Resilience Commission, created to advise the City Council on key environmental and sustainability issues affecting the surrounding community.

The commission will focus on the city’s long-term environmental goals, including energy efficiency, climate adaptation, water conservation and wildfire risk reduction. The commission will serve as an advisory role to the City Council.

“The creation of this commission reflects our city’s deep commitment to environmental stewardship, climate responsibility and proactive governance,” Mayor Michael T. Davitt said in a statement. “By establishing this commission, we’re ensuring that local voices can help shape real, forward-thinking solutions to the challenges our community and planet face. We encourage all interested parties to apply.”

Residents interested in applying can submit their applications by June 8. Appointments to the commission are scheduled to be made by the City Council on Aug. 5.
