Two students were taken to a hospital Wednesday after an incident in a science lab at a middle school in Los Angeles’ South Park neighborhood.
Six other students were examined by firefighters who were called around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday to Carver Middle School, in the 4400 block of South McKinley Avenue, according to Lyndsey Lantz of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
All patients were in fair condition, and no hazardous chemicals were located at the scene, so the cause of the illnesses was not immediately clear, according to Lantz.
The genders and ages of the children were not provided.
Police also responded to the school, she said.
