A man was in grave condition Thursday after being freed from beneath a wall that collapsed in the rear of a home in the Vermont Knolls section of South Los Angeles.
Firefighters were called about 1:35 p.m. Thursday to the 7400 block of South Hoover Street, where the man was found beneath a collapsed block wall.
The man was receiving lifesaving care at the scene, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
It’s unclear what caused the wall to fall.
