The Griswolds are back, and they’re heading back to Walley World.

Filming has begun in Georgia on a reboot of the “Vacation” film franchise, this time starring Ed Helms as Rusty Griswold, who is all grown up and following in his father’s footsteps by taking his family on a cross-country adventure, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema announced Tuesday.

Christina Applegate will co-star as Rusty Griswold’s wife, Debbie.

In the film, Rusty decides the family is in need of some bonding, so he takes his wife and their two sons on a cross-country drive to Walley World, the same amusement park the original Griswold family reached — eventually — in the 1983 film “National Lampoon’s Vacation.”

Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”) will portray Stone Crandall, Rusty’s successful brother-in-law, while Charlie Day (“Horrible Bosses”) will play a river-rafting guide. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold from the original “Vacation” films.

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the team behind “Horrible Bosses” and “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” wrote the script, and “Vacation” will mark their directorial debut.

A release date was not immediately announced.
