Sunday’s death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown, made social media into a virtual wake Monday, with tributes posted by fans and celebrities.
Her passing sparked rumors of a homicide investigation, abetted by stories in TMZ and other gossip sites — a reaction not seen since Michael Jackson’s death.
“She is finally at peace in the arms of God,” the Houston family said in statement. “We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Bobbi Kristina, who had a $20 million inheritance, was placed in a medically induced coma at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital after being found unresponsive in her bathtub Jan. 31. She was at the Beverly Hilton when she was informed of her mother’s death four years ago.
