“Straight Outta Compton” opened in the No. 1 position at the continent’s box offices this weekend, with an estimated $56 million in ticket sales.

The Universal Picture sold more tickets than the next six movies combined this week, according to studio estimates gathered by Rentrak.

“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” finished in distant second place, with a $17 million total sales result in its third weekend.

Another TV retread, “Man From U.N.C.L.E.,” opened in third place, far behind the rap music movie, with $13.5 million in estimated sales.

Rounding out the top 10 movies in the United States and Canada this weekend, as estimated by the studios and collated by Rentrak, were “Fantastic Four” ($8 million), “The Gift” ($6.5 million), “Ant-Man” ($5.5 million), “Vacation” ($5.3 million), “Minions” ($5.2 million), “Ricki And The Flash” ($4.6 million) and “Trainwreck” ($3.8 million).
