In June 2014, Morgan was injured when a Walmart truck struck his vehicle. Comedian James McNair was killed in the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board found that Walmart driver Kevin Roper had been awake for more than 28 hours.
The 41st season of SNL will kick off Oct. 3, when Miley Cyrus returns to host. “Trainwreck” star Amy Schumer will guest host the following week.
NBC made the lineup announcement via Twitter, and applause followed.
