An animated Scooby-Doo movie will be released on Sept. 21, 2018, Warner Bros. announced.

“Like countless fans, I have always loved the Hanna-Barbera cast of characters,” said Greg Silverman, Warner Bros. president of creative development and worldwide production.

“As one of their most famous brand ambassadors, Scooby-Doo will take the lead in re-introducing this pantheon of enduringly popular animated stars on a grand scale with an exciting new movie.”

The mystery-solving talking Great Dane made his debut in a 1969 CBS Saturday morning cartoon, “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!”

An animated spinoff “A Pup Named Scooby-Doo” ran on ABC from 1988-91. The live-action films “Scooby-Doo” and “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” were released in 2002 and 2004.
