“Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials ” navigated to the top of the box office heap this weekend, and opened with an estimated $30.3 million in domestic sales.

“Black Mass” opened in second place, with an estimated $23.4 million in box office sales in the United States and Canada.

“The Visit” was in third place, in its second week of showings, with an estimated $11.3 weekend sales. And “The Perfect Guy” held fourth place, with $9.7 million in projected ticket sales in its second weekend of showings.

“Everest” opened in fifth place, with an estimated $7.6 million in sales.

Rounding out the top 10 movies in the U.S. and Canada this weekend, as estimated by the studios and collated by Rentrak, were “War Room ” ($6.3 million), “A Walk In The Woods” ($2.8 million), “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” ($2.3 million), “Straight Outta Compton” ($2 million) and “Grandma” ($1.6 million).
