Ten films have made the short list of contenders for the Oscar for documentary short subject, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday.

The 10 films were chosen by members of the Academy’s Documentary Branch from among 74 original contenders.

The list will eventually be winnowed to five Oscar nominees.

Still in contention are:

— “Body Team 12”;

— “Chau, beyond the Lines”;

— “Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah”;

— “50 Feet from Syria”;

— “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness”;

— “Last Day of Freedom”;

— “Minerita”;

— “My Enemy, My Brother”;

— “Starting Point”; and

— “The Testimony.”

Oscar nominations will be announced Jan. 14.
