Snoop Dogg debuts pot brand in Colorado despite legality issues

Longtime marijuana advocate Snoop Dogg has launched his own brand of pot in Colorado — Leafs by Snoop.

But some media outlets note that Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., the real name of the rapper from Long Beach, isn’t a Colorado resident and can’t legally own the brand.

“Leafs By Snoop cannabis products are made under a Colorado marijuana license belonging to Beyond Broadway, which does business as LivWell and will grow all of the brand’s flower and manufacture its edibles and concentrates,” said the Cannabist after Tuesday’s launch.

In any case, Snoop says Leafs “is my way of sharing the experience I have with the finest quality cannabis one could imagine.”

“Leafs by Snoop is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer,” Snoop was quoted as saying by the Cannabist. “LBS is blazing a trail for the industry.”
