Someone at Los Angeles-based Total Beauty may have lost a holiday bonus. Or maybe earned a raise for a booboo that brought the site a boatload of publicity.

“The reaction from Oprah came when Gayle King took a picture with Oprah and posted it on her Instagram. “@Oprah & favorite daughter watching #Oscars & seeing @totalbeautyeditors snafu! We all love @whoopigoldberg but we don’t all look alike Jeeeze!”
Using this #Oscars #SNAFU as an opportunity to donate $10k to @whoopigoldberg & @oprah‘s charity of choice. #ThatsNotOprah #WeMeanIt

Total Beauty posted a mea culpa as well.
We’d like to apologize to Oprah and Whoopi, as well as everyone we’ve offended. It was our error, and there are no excuses. We’re sorry.

That Oprah/Whoopi tweet has been up for nearly an hour. Another hour and I bet they spin it as being a joke all along.

It looks like they took down the Whoopi/Oprah tweet. Eh, I don’t think anybody noticed.
