
The battle between Batman and Superman continued to rule North American theaters, although its receipts fell sharply from the film’s dominate debut weekend, according to final figures released Monday.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” earned $51.3 million between Friday and Sunday, a 69 percent drop from its opening weekend, according to comScore. The film has earned $260.4 million in its two weeks of release.
Disney’s “Zootopia” finished a distant second with $19.3 million, giving it a five-week haul of $275.3 million, followed by “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2,” which earned $11.2 million.
“God’s Not Dead 2” opened in fourth place with $7.6 million, followed by “Miracles from Heaven” with $7.3 million.
Rounding out the top 10 films of the weekend were “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” ($5.8 million); “10 Cloverfield Lane” ($4.6 million); “Meet The Blacks” ($4.1 million); “Eye In The Sky” ($4 million); and “Deadpool” ($3.5 million).
