Ranting against members of her family, Sinead O’Connor is venting on Facebook after scaring her friends and fans with a daylong disappearance.
As USA Today reported, “She lashes out at her father, whom she calls a ‘chauvinist bully’ who mistreated her mother. She attacks one of her exes, John Reynolds, and their son, her oldest, Jake Reynolds, 28, whom she labels ‘evil.’ She accuses all of them of ‘torturing’ her, exacerbating her mental illness. She threatens to sue them and she threatens suicide.
On Facebook, she wrote: “None of you will ever see me again because of what you’ve done. If I manage not to kill myself, you’ll be paying the medical costs which have been and will continue to be involved with that, since you were and remain, the chief co-ordinator of my total psychological and emotional destruction.”
USA Today says her post refers to an ongoing family dispute over the custody of one of her four children, Shane Lunny, 12.
“He’s been placed in Irish foster care, she said in an earlier post, because O’Connor, 49, did not recover well from a hysterectomy and couldn’t care for him. She wanted Shane’s father or Jake to take custody of him; instead, he ended up unhappy in foster care, she wrote angrily.”
“You unchristian, ungrateful, lying, criminal,” she said. “You murdered your mother one way or the other. You drove her from her life so she had to run to another continent just to stay alive. You made her leave her babies and then you left them. YOU are the one who needs a… psychiatrist. All of you.”
