If at first you don’t succeed, try, try another trailer. That’s apparently the “Ghostbusters” motto amid even more derision and skepticism.

As the L.A. Times reported: “After the first trailer for the new ‘Ghostbusters’ film was seen as something of a dud, with infuriated denizens of the Internet making it the most ‘disliked’ movie trailer on YouTube of all time, the second look at the film, released Wednesday on Facebook, is leaning on nostalgia to win back fans of the franchise.

“The new look at the film, a gender-swapped reboot of the 1984 classic that pits paranormal specialists against a growing ghost invasion, spends much less time on setting up the premise than the first trailer did, instead letting the comedic powerhouses they’ve cast (Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones) do the heavy lifting for them.”

But the Twitter-Humor Industrial Complex was firing on all cylinders, with remarks like: “I’m boycotting the new Ghostbusters movie because none of the ghosts they fight are free-range, organic or locally-sourced” and “Call us when the Ghostbusters are trans.”

With the movie in theaters July 15, we have two months of this to come:
