Amy Schumer aimed to draw attention to National Gun Violence Awareness Day.. She got it via an Instagram selfie that shows her half-naked. The post drew 40,000 likes, but also some dislikes elsewhere.
“There is no link between Amy Schumer’s selfie and calls for ‘sensible” gun control,” said one commenter.
Wrote Marissa Miller on The Frisky:“I have A LOT of questions: 1) Amy, WHY? 2) You have a great body. Please show us more of it? 3) Who was the marketing genius behind this, and was it the guy who put Carrie Bradshaw naked on a bus? I knew it, you sly devil, you.”
As AOL reported: “Schumer, who has become a fierce advocate of gun control ever since a gunman killed two people during a screening of her film ‘Trainwreck’ last summer in Louisiana, posted a photo of herself wearing an orange sports bra … and nothing else. What better way to raise awareness and spread the word than with a naked photo?”
