The bitter split between actress Amber Heard and estranged husband Johnny Depp prompted a visit by the LAPD Monday to the couple’s downtown Los Angeles home.
Los Angeles police Officer Tony Im confirmed that police responded around 1:45 p.m. to the home in the 800 block of South Broadway in response to a dispute over a court order. He said officers on the scene primarily kept the peace and ultimately left the scene. He said neither party — Heard nor Depp — were at the scene.
The website TMZ reported that Heard’s representatives called police, alleging Depp was violating a restraining order she obtained last month against the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor by having a crew remove items from the home.
Depp is reportedly in the Bahamas.
The restraining order requires Depp to stay at least 100 yards from Heard, her home, car and workplace.
According to TMZ, the order includes a “move-out order” that allows Depp to collect clothing and other personal items. But Heard’s representatives alleged that Depp’s crew was “removing things from the walls and taking furniture out of the home,” the website reported.
Im said he had no information about whether the dispute was resolved, but said the matter was not under LAPD investigation.
Attorneys for Heard and Depp are due back in court Friday, when a judge is expected to decide whether to extend the restraining order.
Depp, 52, and Heard, 30, met on the set of “The Rum Diary” and were married in February 2015. Heard filed for divorce May 23, and accused of the actor of hitting her during a dispute at their home on May 21.
