As US magazine reported, Copeland, 33, and attorney Olu Evans “tied the knot at the Montage Hotel … in front of 100 guests. The bride wore an Inbal Dror gown and donned Christian Louboutin shoes.”

Copeland and Evans, her longtime boyfriend, got engaged in August 2015 — two months after she became the first African American woman to become a principal dancer at New York City’s American Ballet Theatre.

“Misty has been with Olu, a 37-year-old corporate attorney, for the past 10 years, and the two share an apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side,” the Daily Mail said last year.

“The two met at a New York City club in 2006 when Olu was out with his cousin, actor Taye Diggs.”

Pagesix.com added: “Misty Copeland has Taye Diggs and hospitality guru David Rabin to thank for introducing her to her lawyer fiancé, Olu Evans. Diggs pointed out Copeland to his cousin Evans on the dance floor at Rabin’s former hot spot Lotus 11 years ago.

As the Daily Breeze reported, “Twenty years ago, Copeland was encouraged by Dana Middle School drill team instructor Elizabeth Cantine to take a free ballet class taught by [Cindy] Bradley at the Boys and Girls Club in San Pedro — but she was too timid to join, preferring to watch from the bleachers.

“I coaxed her down and immediately saw her talent,” Bradley said of Copeland’s first lesson in gym clothes and socks.
