Sylvester Stallone can beat almost any cinematic boxer, but he’s having a hard time knocking out a persistent death rumor.

Snopes and Hoax Alert have both busted a Facebook post saying the “Rocky” actor, 70, was found dead at his home in Los Angeles.

Stallone’s brother Frank even took to Instagram to vouch for the liveness of Sly.

So why is the fraud still floating?

There’s a phishing motive, according to Snopes, which reported: “The … Facebook message linked to a clickbait web site known for creating and sharing celebrity death hoaxes. … This web site spreads misinformation (almost always a death hoax) in an attempt to bait people into giving away their information.”

Frank Stallone has his own ideas: “To all my fans and friends there is this rumor that my brother has died! It is totally false unless I was just speaking with a ghost. I would like to find the person who started this unfunny rumor and turn them into a ghost. We are fine and love you all.”

Some haven’t yet gotten the memo.
