Actor/musician Drake Bell pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence stemming from his arrest last December in Glendale, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed today.
The 30-year-old entertainer — who was arrested and charged under his full name Jared Drake Bell — also admitted allegations that he refused to take a chemical test and that he had a prior conviction in 2010 for driving under the influence in San Diego.
Bell was sentenced late Friday to four days in county jail and four years probation. He was also ordered to complete an alcohol program, comply with any Department of Motor Vehicles orders and restrictions on his driving privileges, and warned that he could be charged with murder if he commits any future DUIs that result in someone’s death, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Bell had spent about 9 1/2 hours in custody after his Dec. 21 arrest, and was behind bars for just over a day being released Saturday evening, according to jail records.
Bell was stopped by Glendale police after officers spotted him swerving and speeding, according to a Glendale police spokeswoman.
The actor is best known for his role as Drake Parker in Nickelodeon‘s “Drake & Josh,” which aired its last episode in 2007.
