On her second day as education secretary, Betsy DeVos was driven away from a Washington school she was trying to visit. She eventually found another way in.
“GO BACK!” a Mediate report said she was told. “SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!”
But Day 1 might have been worse, with social media reacting to a DeVos tweet meant to be self-deprecating: “Day 1 on the job is done, but we’re only getting started. Now where do I find the pencils? :)”
