Four hours after posting a postoperative picture Tuesday to Instagram, “Biggest Loser” trainer and host Bob Harper had close to 20,000 likes and 1,250 comments.
“On the road to recovery,” he said in the wake of his heart attack. “I’m required to wear these monitors to see what my heart is doing throughout the day. I feel like a robot from WESTWORLD.”
On Monday, a post with nearly 38,000 likes said: “Well, I guess you all heard what happened. Two weeks ago yesterday I had a heart attack. I am feeling better. Just taking it easy. KARL has been a great nurse. I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of messages and support. It feels good to be cared about. I’ve been home for 8 days now.”
Karl is Harper’s dog, rescued from a shelter.

“It just kills me when people buy a dog when there are dogs in shelters,” he told Life and a Dog. “I still get emotional when I think of Karl sitting in that shelter. I wasn’t looking. I didn’t even think I had time for a dog, and then I met this little one and he needed help. It’s been so amazing to see him transform into a happy and confident companion. He is the best dog in the world. I love him!”
The dog is a terrier-shi-tzu-possibly-Havanese mix, People magazine said in 2010.
