Singer Britney Spears will receive the inaugural Radio Disney Music Awards Icon Award, honoring her for a career that “transcends popular culture,” producers announced Wednesday.

A former Mouseketeer, Spears, 35, will receive the honor during the awards show April 29 at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

“Having just celebrated 20 years of Radio Disney in 2016, we are excited to introduce the RDMA Icon Award as special recognition of an artist whose music has been loved and adored by generations of Radio Disney fans,” said Radio Disney Network General Manager Phil Guerini. “We are proud to celebrate Britney as the first recipient for this award acknowledging her chart-topping career on Radio Disney since 1998.”

The network noted that Spears’ music has been playing on Radio Disney since 1998, and she had the network’s top song of 1999, “(You Drive Me) Crazy.”
