In the end, Alex Jones’ screaming and chest-thumping on Infowars had little do with a Texas verdict in his child custody battle.

Ex-wife Kelly Jones was awarded the right to have their three children make their primary residence with her instead of her husband for the first time since their 2015 divorce.

“As the last juror left, unlocking his bicycle from a bike rack outside the courthouse for the ride home on the cooly comfortable night, he said the jurors thought both Joneses were good parents – ‘that’s why we deliberated so long,’” reported the Austin American-Statesman after the nine-hour jury talks.

“The juror, who did not identify himself, said that Infowars did not figure in the verdict,” the paper said, quoting the juror: “It was not dispositive.”

However, Kelly said she wants the family involved in a program for undoing parental alienation, where one parent turns the children against another parent. She also thinking of writing a book about it.

The Daily Beast noted that Jones’ lawyers argued that his on-air persona is an act, an assertion that could potentially cast some doubt on his often over-the-top political claims, including doubts that the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre ever occurred.

“Regardless, questions about InfoWars have been something of a moot point due to Judge Orlinda Naranjo’s refusal to allow the trial to focus on the program or Alex’s politics.”

“Perhaps the most significant InfoWars clip to get traction in court was one from Saturday morning in which he boasted that he had slept with “conservatively” at least 150 women by the time he was 16. The clip was not played in court, but Kelly Jones’ attorneys managed to bring it up in court as evidence that Alex is not a positive role model for his 14-year-old son.”
