Melissa McCarthy’s writers deserve a raise. In preparing for the next “Saturday Night Live,” their heads are hurting from oversaturation of White House material.
Uproxx also notes a McCarthy milestone:
“McCarthy will become only the fifth woman to enter SNL‘s ‘Five-Timers Club’ [as host]. Candice Bergen was the first to accomplish the feat, followed by Drew Barrymore, former ‘Weekend Update’ anchor Tina Fey, and Scarlett Johansson.
“To prepare for her hosting duties, McCarthy has been ‘watching and observing’ President Donald Trump’s press secretary.”
McCarthy apparently wanted her gig to get maximum exposure.
CNN’s Brian Stelter said SNL was seen taping outside the CNN building Friday morning, “with McCarthy scooting around on on her motorized podium while screaming something unintelligible about fake news, probably.”
