Does Sean Hannity really want to encourage an advertiser boycott of his liberal rival Rachel Maddow?

Still smarting for the loss of at least seven of his own sponsors, the Fox News host retweeted a story from conservative Media Equalizer that calls for pressure on those sponsoring Maddow’s top-rated show on MSNBC.

As The Hill noted: “Hannity earlier this month said he opposed boycott efforts when conservatives tried a similar pressure campaign on late-night host Stephen Colbert.”

“I will NOT support #FireColbert. I am vs ALL BOYCOTTS. He is a horrible human being, but if u don’t like him change the channel,” he tweeted at the time, adding, “Boycotts, demands to fire people who make political comments you disagree with, this is what the left is doing to conservatives.”

Maddox has yet to respond on her Twitter feed to the boycott call. Ironically, her Twitter description might be one Hannity adopts: “(Retweets do not imply endorsement.)”
