Venus and Serena Williams may have guns in the biceps meaning of the word, but their father is denied the real ones.
“Lakeisha Juanita Williams — who is divorcing Richard Williams after seven years of marriage — claimed in a new legal filing that she wanted to get rid of the weapons, including an AK-47, because she believes he ‘behaves recklessly and dangerously with the guns’ and she feared for her and their 5-year-old son’s safety,” said the New York Daily News.
Lakeisha’s lawyer, Sandy Becher, told the tabloid:
“The bottom line is he had been acting very emotional and erratic with my client, and he keeps an arsenal of guns in the house, and they had an argument about it, and she removed them on her own for fear something could happen to the child.”
The paper said Lakeisha, 38, claimed in the legal filing that she asked her husband, 75, to remove the weapons from their home, but she ended up doing it herself after he declined.
The Miami Herald said that when Richard filed for divorce in May, he claimed his wife had stolen Social Security checks and forged his signature to transfer ownership of a home and several cars to her.
