Smiling Ellen DeGeneres shames greedy ‘Nancy’ in audience

Who’s Nancy? Where does she live? And what’s her reaction to being named and shamed by Ellen DeGeneres on national TV?

Such are the questions in the wake of the “Ellen” episode that used a hidden camera to observe who was following instructions at a “Pick Only One” souvenir table before the taping.

Nancy, the audience member in yellow blouse, became the object lesson of a smiling DeGeneres after being shown on tape grabbing several items and even coming back later to swap one out for a hat.

“You’re the kind of person that, when you go trick-or-treating and nobody’s home, you don’t just take one piece of candy, you take the bowl,” DeGeneres said.

Nancy’s explanation? “My sister couldn’t come.”

Ellen’s reply: “A lot of sisters couldn’t come.”

“Let that be a lesson to you,” she continued. “You think nobody’s watching you, and you just need to be a good person … You go sit in that Ellen chair right now.”
