Is the end of the world coming for fans of “The Big Bang Theory”? Possibly in 2019, says co-creator Chuck Lorre.
“We never really figured to be at year 11, let alone what’s going to happen after 12,” Lorre told The Hollywood Reporter after talking up spinoff “Young Sheldon” at a Television Critics Association press event.
“One could easily presume that would be the end of the series, but I’m just amazed we’re here.”
Lorre may not have the final say, of course.
New CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl was asked how long the sitcom could spin.
“As long as we can go; 20 years. I hope to have it as long as we can,” he told THR.
THR added: “CBS and producers Warner Bros. Television have yet to announce any plans for the show’s future.”
