You’re either with him or you’re against him.

The political Left is going nuts right now over how to deal with “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah and his condemnation of “these black clad mystery fighters coming for the alt-right? Oh! Anti-fascist. Antifa.”

So forget Bernie vs. Hillary. Now it’s pro-Noah or anti-Noah.

“The segment, which you should not watch, unless you like to get your heart rate up first thing in the morning, is six minutes of half-hearted down-punching at a group Noah and his writers make scant effort to understand,” says Seth Simons at Paste Magazine.

Said Marlow Stern of The Daily Beast: “Comparing Antifa to ISIS is remarkably ignorant, even for a late-night comedian. The irony being that the person who actually committed an ISIS-style attack belonged to the group opposed to Antifa—that is, the neo-Nazis.”

Using terms line “vegan ISIS” and “punch-drunk Left,” Noah said: “Because you don’t realize when you think you’re punching Nazis, you don’t realize that you’re also punching your cause. Because your opponents, they’ll just use every violent incident to discredit your entire movement, and they make it seem like — they make it seem like — in a world where white supremacists have a friend in the White House, the real problem is you guys.”

Marissa Martinelli of Slate took the South African comic’s side: “With Fox News (and accordingly, Donald Trump), looking for any opportunity to play the victim, that’s not something the left can afford right now.”

Too many folks found little humor on either side.
