Singer Aaron Carter is recovering from a car accident and reports that police were called to his home in response to an anonymous suicide threat.
The New York Daily News reported that documents show police in St. Petersburg, Florida, arrived at the home at 10:01 p.m. after a friend reported that Carter threatened to commit suicide.
“This is one of many run-ins with police Carter’s had this week, records show,” the Daily News said. “Authorities were called to Carter’s home three times in a 24-hour period early this week.”
The brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter tweeted about the accident, but did not reveal the details.
The accident was “severe,” he said, but “nothing compares to what happened today.”
The Daily News quoted a “rep” for the 29-year-old musician known for “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” as saying, “Aaron is fine and preparing for his performance in Memphis Saturday night and in New York on Tuesday.”
