Goodyear Blimp Wingfoot Two left the Southland Thursday on a 2,600-mile, nine-day journey across the United States … its second cross-country tour in the past year.

The airship — which departed its Carson base at about 9:45 a.m. — will venture east across eight states on the way to Goodyear’s Wingfoot Lake Airship Base near Akron, Ohio.

Wingfoot Two is scheduled to fly over Tucson, Arizona; Deming, New Mexico; Hobbs, New Mexico; Fort Worth, Texas; Fayetteville, Arkansas; St. Louis, Missouri; and Indianapolis, Indiana.

Onlookers in cities and towns throughout the route will be able to spot the blimp overhead.

Since arriving in the Los Angeles area in October, Wingfoot Two has covered the 129th Rose Parade, the 104th Rose Bowl, the 75th Golden Globes and 90th Academy Awards red carpets; PGA Tour stops across California and Arizona; NASCAR races; and the NBA Finals, Western Conference Finals and All-Star Game.

Launched in 2016, Wingfoot Two is the second of a new generation of Goodyear blimps, which includes Florida-based Wingfoot One, and Ohio-based Wingfoot Three. connect with one another at events.”
