CBS announced Tuesday it has ordered a competition series with the working title “Million Dollar Mile,” where contestants can win $1 million by completing what the network described as “the most challenging course ever designed.”

The series’ executive producers include Los Angeles Lakers all-star forward LeBron James and his business manager Maverick Carter.

“This show takes competition series to a whole new level,” said Carter, the CEO of SpringHill Entertainment.

“It’s intense, it’s entertaining and it has a twist that will have people on the edge of their seats while also creating an opportunity to change the contestants’ lives. It’s exactly the type of aspirational content SpringHill Entertainment is about.”

The series is also produced by Fly on the Wall Entertainment and Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television. It is the third television project in 10 days that James is an executive producer of.

James is an executive producer of the Netflix miniseries “Madam C.J. Walker” about the turn of the century black hair care pioneer and mogul and the three-part Showtime documentary series on the changing role of athletes, focusing on NBA players, “Shut Up and Dribble.”

James is also an executive producer of the NBC game show “The Wall.”
