Emmy-winning actor Edward James Olmos will throw a first pitch at Sunday’s Los Angeles Dodgers-Arizona Diamondbacks game at Dodger Stadium, two days before the premiere of his latest series, “Mayans MC.”

“Mayans MC,” which will air on cable’s FX, is billed as ” the next chapter in the `Sons of Anarchy’ saga.”

JD Pardo stars as Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes who was recently released from prison and is a prospect in the Mayans M.C. charter on the California-Mexico border. Olmos plays the father of Pardo’s character.

Olmos received his Emmy in 1985 for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series for his portrayal of Metro-Dade Police Department Lt. Martin “Marty” Castillo on the NBC crime drama “Miami Vice.”

The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets will perform the national anthem. It is the official fanfare ensemble for the president of the United States, playing “Ruffles and Flourishes” and “Hail to the Chief” for the arrival of the president at state and official arrival ceremonies at the White House.

The ensemble also performed at the opening ceremony for the 1984 Summer Olympics at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Dale Shirasago will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game.

Shirasago is an Air Force Academy graduate who became a missile launch officer and plans/programs officer and served at the Pentagon.

Shirasago’s awards include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Joint Service Achievement Medal.

As with most Sunday home day games, children 14 and under will be allowed to run the bases following the game.
