Teenage singer-songwriter Billie Eilish and actress Issa Rae, who are both native Angelenos, are among the second group of personalities to record welcoming messages heard by travelers at LAX.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff and German-Russian music producer/DJ Zedd are also taking part in the “Voices of Los Angeles” project, which launched in July.

“Los Angeles is the city of stars, and LAX is excited to bring the voices of some of these stars into our airport with inspiring and engaging messages that welcome all to our great city,” Los Angeles World Airports CEO Deborah Flint said.

“The Voices of Los Angeles project has proven to be extremely popular with our guests, and we’re excited to continue showcasing entertainers, athletes and more as a fun way to surprise our guests and celebrate the diversity, creativity and talent of these incredible Angelenos,” she said.

The messages — which rotate throughout the day and are replaced on a regular basis with new voices — are played on the overhead announcement system inside each terminal.

The first batch of messages featured TV personality Jimmy Kimmel, Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner, chef Susan Feniger and conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s music and artistic director.
