“The Invisible Man” was seen by plenty of people over the weekend, with the thriller dominating theaters to open in first place at the North American box office, according to final figures released Monday.
The film, starring Elizabeth Moss, collected $28.2 million between Friday and Sunday to lead the way at theaters, according to box-office tracker Comscore.
Last week’s top film, “Sonic The Hedgehog,” slipped to second place, earning $16.3 million over the weekend. Harrison Ford’s “The Call of The Wild” finished third with $13.4 million.
“My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising” — Funimation’s Japanese anime superhero film — took fourth place with $5.8 million, followed by “Bad Boys For Life” with $4.4 million.
Rounding out the top 10 films of the weekend were “Birds of Prey” ($4.1 million); “Impractical Jokers: The Movie” ($3.4 million); “1917” ($2.7 million); “Brahms: The Boy II” ($2.6 million); and “Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island” ($2.3 million).
