A DUI checkpoint Saturday in Paramount yielded 13 arrests, including three motorists suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
The checkpoint was from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday on Paramount Boulevard at All American City Way, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Besides the DUIs, eight people were arrested and released for driving without a license or with a suspended or revoked license and two were arrested for other criminal charges including reckless driving and an outstanding warrant, officials said. Six vehicles were impounded.
Checkpoint locations are determined by the history of crashes and DUI arrests in an area, officials said.
