An investigation was underway Saturday into the shooting death of a man in a residential neighborhood in Paramount.
Deputies responded at 11 p.m. Friday to the 7300 block of Richfield Street, near Garfield Avenue, and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Deputy Alejandra Parra of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
His name will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
“Detectives are recovering evidence and canvassing the area for possible witnesses,” Parra said. “There is no additional information at this time.”
