Criminal charges were dropped Friday against actor Joseph Gatt, who was arrested in 2022 for alleged contact with a minor for a sexual offense and possession of an assault weapon.

A representative for the District Attorney’s Office told City News Service the charges were dropped pending further investigation, and “the matter is still under review.”

Gatt, 52, had pleaded not guilty to the charges and was free on bail.

When he was arrested in early 2022, Los Angeles Police Department officials said he was detained on a felony warrant “for contact with a minor for a sexual offense.” No other details were released.

Gatt took to social media at the time, calling the allegations “absolutely horrifying and completely untrue.”

“I am fully cooperating with police and LAPD to get to the bottom of this,” he wrote. “I look forward to clearing my good name. Thank you to all my friends and supporters who know that this is untrue and understand for legal reasons I cannot comment further on social media.”

Gatt’s acting credits include “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Game of Thrones,” “Thor” and “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
