Halsey has reached a settlement in a lawsuit brought by a former nanny to the singer’s son, who alleged she was owed back wages.
Plaintiff Ashley Funches’ attorney filed court papers on Monday with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Thomas Long notifying him of the accord, but no terms were divulged.
Trial had been scheduled for Nov. 12.
According to Funches’ suit, she entered a contract in 2021 with Halsey’s company, Leaving Things Behind Touring, to work for the singer as a live-in personal attendant for the performer’s newborn child and was paid every two weeks by another Halsey company, Halsey Music, based on an annual salary.
Funches cared for the child, prepared meals, cleaned, laundered, cleaned breast pump materials, organized the nursery and ran errands, according to the suit filed in June 2022, which further stated that Funches worked around the clock on consecutive days with little to no days of rest.
Funches alleges she was wrongfully fired in March 2022 for complaining about her work conditions and for asking for time off for a medical procedure. Halsey’s real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane and she turned 30 years old on Sunday.
