A critically acclaimed documentary about the life and career of actor Christopher Reeve was one of six films nominated Tuesday for the Producers Guild of America Award for documentaries.
“Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story,” was nominated along with “Gaucho Gaucho,” which follows the lives of dedicated gauchos of Argentina; “Mediha,” the story of an Iraqi teen who survived ISIS captivity; “Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa,” about a Nepali mother and mountain climber who embarks on a conquest of Mount Everest; “Porcelain War,” tracking the struggles of artists in war-torn Ukraine; and “We Will Dance Again,” the story of the Hamas attack on the Nova Music Festival in Israel.
The 37th PGA Awards ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City.
The PGA on Friday will announce nominations in for sports, children’s and short-form programming, while nods for film and TV will be announced Jan. 10.
The PGA honor for motion pictures is a highly coveted prize, since it generally foretells success in the Oscar best picture category.
