A 19-year-old from Buena Park is expected to plead guilty Friday to taking part in a series of armed carjackings and store thefts in which five vehicles and two large-screen televisions were stolen.

Andres Silva Cerrillos has agreed to enter a plea in downtown Los Angeles to eight federal charges, including conspiracy to commit carjacking, carjacking, attempted carjacking, and interference with commerce by robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Cerrillos would be the second of four defendants to plead guilty in the case. Jesse Gutierrez, 19, of Los Angeles pleaded guilty earlier this month to three federal counts and is scheduled to be sentenced in August.

The status of the case against Sergio Macias, 22, of South Los Angeles is under seal in Los Angeles federal court. A fourth defendant, Michael Anthony Fisher, 23, of Bell is set for trial in September.

The defendants were charged in a nine-count indictment in July 2024.

According to the indictment, in winter 2023, the four men carjacked or tried to carjack vehicles from owners in Downey, Pico Rivera, Norwalk and Whittier.

Prosecutors say that on Nov. 15, 2023, Cerrillos and Gutierrez stole two large-screen televisions from a Walmart store in South Gate. They also are alleged to have threatened a store employee with violence as they were fleeing, court papers show.
