A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will be unveiled Wednesday honoring Los Bukis, the chart-topping and Grammy-nominated Mexican regional music band that sold out SoFi Stadium and Chicago’s Soldier Field in 2021.
Oscar-nominated Mexican-born actor Demian Bichir is set to speak at the 11:30 a.m. ceremony at 7060 Hollywood Blvd., near Sycamore Avenue. Comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will be the master of ceremonies.
Hollywood Boulevard between Sycamore and La Brea avenues will be closed at 9:30 a.m. to accommodate the ceremony.
All Walk of Fame ceremonies are streamed on walkoffame.com, and can later be seen on YouTube.com/@HwdWalkofFame.
The star is the 2,817th since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961 with the initial 1,558 stars.
Los Bukis was formed in 1973 by Marco Antonio SolÃs and his cousin Joel SolÃs along with drummer Jorge Dávila and bassist Carlos Enrique “Kike” González. Los Bukis means children in the Yaqui language.

In 1985, “Adonde Vas,” became their first album to top Billboard’s regional Mexican albums charts, remaining first for 20 weeks. “Los Bukis” has had nine other albums reach No. 1 on the genre’s charts.
Los Bukis’ hits include “Tu Cárcel,” “Quiéreme,” “Yo Te Necesito,” “Presiento Que Voy a Llorar,” “A Donde Vayas,” “Ya Ahora Te Vas,” “Tus Mentiras,” “Morenita” and “Necesito Una Compañera.”
