The “Hellraiser” horror franchise will be featured for the first time at Halloween Horror Nights this fall, with haunted houses based on the original film trilogy opening at Universal Studios Hollywood, officials announced Tuesday.

The attraction will debut Sept. 3, transporting visitors through scenes inspired by the first three “Hellraiser” films, featuring Pinhead and the Cenobites, according to officials.

Pinhead, the pale, pin-covered leader of the sadistic supernatural beings known as the Cenobites, serves as the iconic villain of the “Hellraiser” franchise.

The experience will recreate locations from the films, including the attic where Frank Cotton is first dragged into hell after his obsession with forbidden pleasures unleashes the horrors of the series, the Channard Institute and the Labyrinth, where guests will encounter Pinhead and other Cenobites, officials said.

Doug Bradley, who portrayed Pinhead in the original films, will reprise the role by providing the character’s voice for the haunted house.

“Hellraiser,” based on Clive Barker’s 1987 horror film, introduced audiences to the Lament Configuration puzzle box, which opens a gateway to another dimension inhabited by the Cenobites.

Universal also announced that limited-edition merchandise inspired by the attraction, including T-shirts and collectible figures, will be available beginning Wednesday.

The attraction joins the previously announced “Sinners” and “Stranger Things” haunted houses for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Universal said additional haunted houses and attractions will be announced later this summer.

Halloween Horror Nights will run select nights from Sept. 3 through Nov. 1 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
